ARCHIMEDES

The more you get absorbed in the game, the more you see, the more you hear. (Mt 18:1-4)

Archimedes used the great inventor's knowledge to make weapons, and his death was fateful, as a Roman soldier ended his life. "Knowledge must be put at the service of peace," says Ádám Tempfli, a maths teacher from Oradea.

Every Sunday from 10am to 4pm in the Posticum Chapel, you can marvel and discover that there is order in the universe.
Everyone of all ages, from kindergarteners to seniors, can try out the magnetic toys. The game teaches geometric knowledge, helps you see and think. If we are open-minded enough, we can discover in the Posticum Chapel the divine knowledge of which we are all a part.

Using the geometric knowledge he has discovered over centuries and millennia, the teacher (unlike Archimedes) makes instruments.
Archimedes' spiral was also the basis for the making of the guitar, harp, zither, violin, bass guitar, mandolin and mandola.
The familiar do, re, mi... scale system is not found on these instruments, but harmony is. We can discover how much there is that we don't know and experience that we are all part of a great order and knowledge.

These instruments can be played by anyone, regardless of age. The 144-stringed tap harp and the light xylotera and harp violin can be played by children as young as 4 years old. The teacher is present but not teaching, allowing freedom and harmony to unfold.
With the magnetic toy, you can make all kinds of geometric shapes. It helps to see in space, develops thinking and concentration.

We are looking forward to welcoming you!
