J\u00f3zsef Bal\u00e1zs a absolvit departamentul de jazz al Universit\u0103\u021bii de Muzic\u0103 Ferenc Liszt \u0219i a fost deja orientat spre jazz \u00een timpul form\u0103rii sale timpurii \u00een muzica clasic\u0103. Cu prima sa forma\u021bie, Bop Machine, a participat la numeroase concursuri, cum ar fi concursul Jazz Juniors din Cracovia, unde pianistul a primit premiul pentru cel mai bun solist.
Bal\u00e1zs J\u00f3zsef Quintet a fost \u00eenfiin\u021bat \u00een 2005, iar de-a lungul timpului a devenit un important reprezentant autohton al cool-ului melodic \u0219i modern. \u00cen 2007, liderul forma\u021biei a c\u00e2\u0219tigat bursa de performan\u021b\u0103 \u00een jazz Lakatos Ablakos Dezs\u0151. Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 succesele sale \u00een lumea jazzului, este recunoscut \u0219i ca aranjor \u0219i autor \u00een alte genuri (pop, muzic\u0103 de film). \u00cen 2009, \u00een leg\u0103tur\u0103 cu albumul de debut al cvintetului s\u0103u (I don't got you mean), Ol\u00e1h K\u00e1lm\u00e1n scria despre el: \"Improvizeaz\u0103 \u00een orice stil de forma\u021bie, sim\u021bi c\u0103 vorbe\u0219te perfect \u0219i folose\u0219te cu gust limba matern\u0103 a jazzului.\" !<\/p>
