Mak\u00e1m is one of the oldest representatives of ethno-folk and world music in Hungary. The band has performed in many European countries from Paris to Varna, from Krakow to Split, and has toured India. Their music is influenced by Hungarian folk music, the Far East, the Balkans, jazz and contemporary music. Their sound is unique in its combination of ethnic and traditional European instruments. His most recent period has been characterised by a rediscovery of archaic forms of Hungarian folk music and song.
Their recent albums have a personal style, an intimate blend of exotic rhythms and lyrical confessions. The legacy of Bart\u00f3k and Kod\u00e1ly, a synthesis of archaic cultures and contemporary musical elements, is Mak\u00e1m's unchanging creed.<\/p>
