Dr. András Barcsay
psychiatrist
I was born in Germany in 1970 to Hungarian parents. I found my first vocation in Hungarian scouting abroad. I graduated from medical school in Mainz and gained professional experience in psychiatric and child and adolescent psychiatric clinics. I completed a training course in child, youth and family psychotherapy and became a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Germany in 2006.
I have had seven children from my relationships. Since 1994, I have been the director of the Candleflame Children's Village Foundation in Mariakéménd, founded with scout friends, which is based on the scouting spirit and the example of the Taizé community. My personal pilgrimage is inspired by the daily Taizé prayers.
I am passionate about exploring how to combine the healing power of traditional medicine and spirituality in the service of the soul. An important personal discovery is that the kingdom of God is a directly tangible reality. When lived with courage, it shapes our daily lives in profound ways. A life-changing invitation can emerge that goes beyond our usual frameworks and ideas.
God - true to his nature - calls with complete gentleness, silently and almost imperceptibly. It is to this deeply personal and unique invitation that I would like to sensitize those who are interested and seeking. I will try to make this experience possible through prayer, conversation and exercises that will move body and soul.
