Dr. Ákos Barcsay
psychospiritual counsellor, doctor of law, economist
I was born in Budapest in 1941. In 1945 my family fled to the West. In Germany I went to a Bavarian elementary school and a Hungarian high school. I graduated from high school in 1959, and then in Belgium, at the University of Løwen, I obtained a doctorate in law, followed by a degree in economics.
I have worked in various small and large companies and institutions as export manager, economic researcher, assistant to the director, associate professor of economics, systems engineer, and then headed a controlling department. I completed a psycho-spiritual accompaniment training. I have years of experience in using inner child therapy and teaching meditation.
For 25 years I have practiced contemplative (prayer) methods (zazen, Jesus Prayer, Centering Prayer) almost daily. As a retired person, I help the Candleflame Children's Village Foundation in Mariakéméndi, and I am now responsible for the spiritual service in its institutions.
